The 6th Annual IRSA Meeting, which takes place in Recife, Brazil, on October 14-17, 2013, is taking shape and looks to be really interesting, as always. The meeting will give some of the world's leading practitioners in the development of the rhythmic language of jazz and improvised music an opportunity to play together, try out new techniques and exchange ideas. As well as these informal playing sessions, there will also be workshops and formal presentations of new rhythmic ideas by some of the participants. Besides, Recife is a very active musical city. It's considered the capital of some really well-known brazilian rhythms like forro, maracatu, frevo, coco, and caboclinho. All participants will have a chance to check and play some of them with local musicians.
